Bloggable Music Network: Newsletter 1
Welcome to the Bloggable Music Network
I’d like to start off by saying THANK YOU for being a part of the Network. I have gotten an incredible response from bloggers and artists alike and there are exciting plans for the future.
In order for this to be a success, though, we need your help. There are 3 things we’d like you to do to help.
1. Only blog about music that you’re excited about.
Don’t just blog about an artist because they’re featured.
2. Tell us about great new music you find.
If you find a musician that you can’t stop talking about, please tell us!
3. Invite other bloggers to join the network.
The bigger we are, the more we can do to help the artists we support.
FEATURED ARTISTS FOR NOVEMBER
This month we are featuring 3 great artists:
JJ Heller
First up is JJ Heller. If you read my blog, you’ve probably seen me write about her and her absolutely mesmerizing voice. JJ is a singer/songwriter from Nashville (shocking, I know). She and her husband Dave made a video just for you to say hi and give you a little sample of her music. Check it
out:
JJ’s latest album, _Painted Red,_ is stellar. It’s one of about 5 albums I’ve bothered to download to my phone (no I don’t have an iPhone). Yes, it’s that good.
One of my favorite songs on the album is called True Things, which also happens to be her current free single. You can download http://www.truecampaign.org/index.php/site/music">JJ Heller’s song here. (There are a number of other great downloads at that site, so be sure to
check it out.)
You can learn more about JJ Heller here
Joy Williams
Our second featured artist is probably someone you’ve heard before. She has 11 Dove nominations and is a prolific songwriter who has written for the likes of Mandisa, This Beautiful Republic and Vickey Beeching. After many years in the CCM industry, she is now an indie artist and quite frankly, she is making better music than ever.
Joy also made a video just for you - to say thanks and to give you a taste of the great music she’s making. Watch it here:
Her new EP is due out in January and she’s currently offering a free download of her song, Lose Myself. Download it at Joy’s ReverbNation page.
I like her sound so much that I gave my email address just so I could listen to demos of the songs on the EP. That’s serious folks.
You can learn more about Joy at:
Shaun Groves
Our final featured artist is none other than Shaun Groves. If you’ve been in this corner of the blogosphere you’ve no doubt visited Shaun’s amazing blog.
Shaun has a new song he’ll release tomorrow (11/4/08) called Kingdom Coming.
You can download it for free from his site on 11/4:
Shaun is a thought provoking songwriter and he’s using his blog and his music to literally change lives. As you read this, he is leading a team of bloggers on a trip to the Dominican Republic to show them the incredible work Compassion does with the children there. Follow along on their trip at the Compassion Bloggers web site.
You can learn more about Shaun, read his blog and download his song at Shaungroves.com.
In Conclusion
You matter.
In this digital age, we all have a voice. You can help the artists you love by simply writing about a great song and how it moved you. Post YouTube videos (feel free to post the two welcome videos that JJ and Joy made) on your blog. Tell your online friends about the free songs that are available.
I hope you’ll listen to these artists, find music you love and tell your friends. And help us make sure that great music gets heard.
Thanks so much for being a part of this movement!
Sincerely,
Kat

I love JJ Heller. Her whole album was free last month on her website, because she’s kind like that, so I was able to hear her music for the first time. My youth pastor recomended her to the youth group while the album was free, and I do agree, she has a really incredible voice! I don’t even like that style of music, but I love her voice!

Heather,
Thanks for commenting. That’s exactly the sort of thing I like to hear. Music that’s so good, even though it’s not your style, you still want to listen to it. Very cool.
What kind of music do you like? I’ll be on the lookout for it…
